About Us

Welcome to Scam Guard USA.

Scam Guard USA is an independent educational website that helps people in the United States recognize, avoid, and recover from online scams and fraud.

Every year, Americans lose billions of dollars to imposter scams, fake online stores, romance and investment fraud, phishing texts, and identity theft. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) received millions of fraud reports in the last year alone — and most victims say the same thing afterwards: "I wish someone had warned me."

That is why this site exists.

What we publish:

- Step-by-step recovery guides: what to do in the first 24 hours after you have been scammed, and how to report fraud to the FTC and the FBI's IC3.

- Scam spotter guides: the red flags of the scams Americans run into most — fake seller scams, toll text scams, bank imposter calls, pig butchering and crypto fraud, and AI voice scams.

- Protection guides: how to freeze your credit, check for data breaches, and protect your parents and grandparents from fraud.

How we work:

Our guides are based on information published by official sources such as the Federal Trade Commission (consumer.ftc.gov), the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (ic3.gov), and IdentityTheft.gov. We explain things in plain, simple English — no jargon, no scare tactics.

Please note: Scam Guard USA is an educational website, not a law firm, bank, or government agency. We never ask for money, passwords, or personal information. If anyone contacts you claiming to be from Scam Guard USA and asks for payment to "recover" your money, that is a scam — please report it.
